How to Have Someone Call You

If you’re new to urLive, you want to make it easy for other people to call you. This article shows you how.

Expanding your network is an iterative process. It takes time to get people to add a new communication platform to their toolbox. But the great thing about urLive is, that callers don’t need to download a new platform, create a new account or even log in. You just need to share your urLive link – that’s it!

To make it easy, we created a panoply of options. Your contacts can choose the best way for them to call you.

urLive Member Calls from their contact list

We think this is the easiest option: the other person opens your profile page and starts a call. To work, the other person must first add you to their contact list.

Adding a new contact

To add a person to the contact list:

  1. Go to the My Calls page and click Add Contact.
  1. Enter a name (or partial name) in the search bar.
  2. Scroll through the list, locate the name, and then click the Add Contact icon.

The person now appears on the CONTACTS page.

Starting a call

To call a contact from their profile page:

  1. Go to the My Calls page, click the CONTACTS menu tab.
  1. Locate the contact and click the url.live link.
  1. On the contact’s profile page, select a call option (voice, video, or chat).

One-click calling

Other people can call you with a single click of your urLive link. What’s the best part? You can share your link just about anywhere.

Websites

Add the link to text or images on a web page or inside a sidebar widget.

Email

Add the link to an email message. For maximum convenience, place the link inside a custom email signature.

SMS

Paste the link inside an SMS message.

Over the phone

There’s beauty in simplicity. That’s why we like the urLive link naming system. It’s so easy to understand, you can share it by saying the url address on the phone.

Try reading a Zoom link over the phone:

Zero-click calling

This innovative feature – built with a tool called Power URLs – lets contacts call you from the URL search bar without clicking a mouse, downloading an app, or dialing a number.

It works like this.

  1. Type the urLive address in the search bar and do not hit Enter
  1. Add a backslash and then type call.
  1. Hit Enter. A new browser tab opens and calls your contact.

Share URL from desktop

If you’re on desktop, quickly share your urLive link in a message to a contact from the main dashboard.

  1. On the My Calls page, click the Share URL button.
  1. Choose a social media option from the buttons on the page.
  1. Share your urLive link in a Facebook post, Twitter tweet, or email message.

Share URL button on the mobile app

From your phone, send your urLive link in a message to a contact.

  1. Open the url.live app and click the Share URL button.
  1. On the next screen, open a communication tool (e.g. email or SMS) and share the link.

What the receiver sees

The receiver opens your message and sees the link.

When the receiver clicks the link, a new browser tab opens and displays your profile page. The receiver can phone you, request a video call, send a message, or schedule a call.

  1. To send a request for immediate contact, open the url.live app on your phone and click Call Me Now Link.
  1. On the next screen, open a communication tool and share the link.
